Although church and state issues may appear separated (the constitutionality regarding the 'separation
of church and state' is a fallacy, definitely not in the Constitution - even in the First
Amendment and check here! -
origin of the term), in reality they are inseparable.
Look for yourself at the Constitution and
the Amendments to the Constitution! No mention of the
terms.
The state needs the church for inhibition of immoral behavior toward the
citizens.
In the early days, as a more moral population was being
governed, we had little need for strong masters as the people constrained their actions in
fear of God's displeasure, family and public shame, and fear of punishment. Government did
not need to be large. Today, the scenery is much different. Maybe we now need more
governmental controls to adequately constrain increasing evil in today's society.
Or, we need revival.
Benjamin Franklin in 1787 said "Only
a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have
more need of masters".
Why is there increasing evil in our society? The
church, mandated by God to oppose this, has failed.
Some pages will be featured on both church and state categories and
content will include both. The separation here is simply to direct surfers to their
area of particular interest, although Christian living always is paramount..
