Yes, it is time!

 

Haggai 1:2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "These people say, `The time has not yet come for the LORD's house to be built.'"

In Old Testament days, the first temple in Jerusalem (Solomon's temple) was totally destroyed and the people were taken captive by the Babylonians.  As they moved back to their land, they kept making excuses why they should wait before rebuilding God's temple all the time they were busy improving their own houses.  God sees our desires and responds accordingly.  In this example, God chose to punish the people for their failures by withholding His blessings and the people found themselves paralyzed as all their work was frustrated.  (see text below)

We have a parallel today with politics.  How many claim that now is not the right time to vote for a "third party" candidate, further propagating the self-fulfilling prophecy that Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party) cannot win.  Some, especially Christians, claim that he cannot win so they will not vote for him, proving that they were right.  Instead of making a difference, they accept the unacceptable.  

When will it be time?  Will it be when the entire country is destroyed?  Why wait?  You see, the longer we wait, both economically and spiritually, the more debt we owe not only to those who hold our borrowed notes but to God Himself as we have chosen not to follow His direction.  We told God to stay out of our schools and our government.  We should have been thankful but we chose to spit in his eye.  Until we repent, our debt to Him will grow and our pain will increase.  It is time.  It is past time.

It is time.  We fear the Democrats.  We don't fear God.  Our nation is under judgment today.  We have lost God's protection.  We (especially the Christians) are under judgment for our unholy alliance with the Republican Party as we see our nation fall further away from biblical and constitutional guidelines.  Politicians magnify the problem as they are in the pockets of the businessmen.  They cannot see beyond the next election.  They do not care for the people.  They laugh at people who speak the truth.  We become ignorable distractions. 

Our compromise has led us to probably the worst choices in Republican and Democratic presidential candidates we have had in recent years.  Our compromise has taught others that Christians are weak and will accept that which we claim is unacceptable.  We prove we are weak.  It is time for God's representatives on earth to act like we are the all-powerful One's people.    Stand firm, do our duty, show faith in God, and deal with the results as God would have us do.

Our economy is in shambles.  Food is expensive.  Our people live for greedy gain.  We care only about ourselves, taking from others as we claim we are better businessmen. 

Credit card debt has enslaved us.  That is what Secretary Paulson wants to preserve!  Our borrowing is the American way, he claims.  Without the availability of credit our nation will fall apart he claims.  Whatever happened to people holding off from purchasing what they would like until they saved enough to afford it?  The Paulson bailout proposal exposes their arrogance and self-centered tunnel vision.   Politicians set this up as they set up 401k laws, trapping people into tax deferred investments and losing the incentive of investing elsewhere. 

A couple of decades ago people generally held a job for life if they performed well.  Not anymore.  To save the costs of paying benefits, businessmen refuse to hire full-time employees and hire multiple part-time employees, hurting those who cannot afford the benefits on their own.  People are fired to avoid paying pensions.  People become disposable, similar to how prostitutes are used by self-centered, unscrupulous individuals.  How many lives must we hurt before we wake up?  It is time to repent.

It is time.  We use flawed judgment that we claim is progressive.  Businessmen and politicians believe illegal aliens should enrich themselves at American citizen's expense, a modern day form of slavery.  We believe Wall Street and our corrupt government care about us.  We believe we can have all we want without paying for it.  We believe perception is reality exhibiting our overwhelming foolishness that has enormous consequences.  We believe there was no God necessary to create us when we cannot even create ourselves.  We claim we are #1 when we don't work to become #1.  We get used to school shootings.  We lose our troops as we fight an unconstitutional war.  Gasoline is expensive.  Yes, we are being judged.  God has turned us over to our sins.  We don't show love of others.

This attitude was predicted by Christ as He spoke of times leading up to the end.

Matthew 24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold ,

Paul also spoke of this.

2 Timothy 3:1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves , lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

It is time.  The only way for our nation (including our economy) to be healed is to turn back to God.  If we refuse, we will continue to suffer because of deceit and lack of self-control that got us into this mess.  We must return to a populous with a general biblical morality, led by Christian influence.  Until then, we will find ourselves with attempting one patch followed by another until we finally will fall victim to the final overwhelming blow that devastates us.  Why?  Because our lack of love of each other will devour us. 

We are no longer the shining city on the hill.  We love darkness.  We are now recipients of the curses

Greed will rule until we turn back to Him.  Predatory lending is only a symptom of the true problem, our own hearts.  No one would take astronomical interest rates from those who are least able to pay their loans back if they really cared for them.  This used to be reserved for loan sharks yet it is now commonplace in normal banking practices.  Even reputable banks steal from their customers when they add fees after fees that empty bank accounts of those who least can afford it.  People who took loans they couldn't handle should take responsibility for their promise to pay off these loans.  No one forced such a decision on them either.  The Fed is unconstitutional and the Secretary of Treasury contributed to the problem both at Goldman Sachs as well as more recently as he mislead the people claiming the economy was sound, multiple times. There is a lot of blame to go around, each of us should accept our role and repent.

We are no longer the shining city on the hill.  We love darkness.  We have become recipients of the curses John Winthrop warned us about when he famously came up with the phrase.  

...But if our hearts shall turn away so that we will not obey, but shall be seduced and worship other Gods our pleasures, and profits, and serve them, it is propounded unto us this day, we shall surely perish out of the good Land whether we pass over this vast Sea to possess it;

Therefore let us choose life,
that we, and our Seed,
may live; by obeying his
voice, and cleaving to him,
for he is our life, and

As Christians, our job is not to win.  It is to be faithful.  Winning at any price is too high if you give up that which matters most.  Christians, we must be the first to repent!

Will we follow the Declaration of Independence and act as our founders did when they said:
"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism,
it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government."  

Pitchforks are appropriate, run them out.  Government needs to be smaller and unobtrusive to the citizens who work and support the nation.    It is time once we repent.

Great News!!!!

Chuck Baldwin has been endorsed by Ron Paul.  Baldwin is the only vote that speaks against business as usual.  It is the only vote for a return to biblical values.  It is the only vote that stands 100% with the values God feels most strongly about, as He outlined in scriptures.  The others have been complicit with the economic failure and worse yet, would rather please man than please God, our only hope and strength.  We are currently reaping what we sewed. 

 

Hagg 1:1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest: 2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "These people say, `The time has not yet come for the LORD's house to be built.'" 3 Then the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai: 4 "Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?" 5 Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways. 6 You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it." 7 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the LORD. 9 "You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the LORD Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house. 10 Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. 11 I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the oil and whatever the ground produces, on men and cattle, and on the labor of your hands." 12 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of the people obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the message of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. And the people feared the LORD. 13 Then Haggai, the LORD's messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people: "I am with you," declares the LORD. 14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God, 15 on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius.
