Tea, anyone?
Last evening, tea parties were found in many cities in America.
What is amazing is that these were not the product of any
orchestrated campaign or rich benefactor but came about through
individuals who care for our nation to be free. People who came together,
simply tired of the theft of our nation by individuals who are short
sighted and deceived. To their credit, FoxNews did take
advantage of the events and will reap the benefits of that decision.
Despite having been at one, supporting nearly all that was said,
it left a strong feeling of depression. Not that we cannot
win. We could. Not that some were ill-behaved, this was
never the case. It was a very honorable group who attended who were great neighbors
and left no paper on the ground behind. These were individuals worth dying for, if
necessary. People who deeply care about others and our nation.
The roughly
7,000 in Birmingham were truly the 'salt of the earth'.
The event began with an earnest prayer, as it should.
Spokespeople, one after one, would make great points, many of which
the people could have written themselves as many of us know that stuff and
realize how badly our nation is floundering.
What is depressing is a realization that we still, no matter how
religious we believe ourselves to be, fail to understand how badly
we need God and how hopeless our restoration without Him. We
concentrated on taxes. Yes they are a problem. We
discussed the burden of the oppressive debt upon our children.
This is truly a form of child abuse. Yet, these are mere
distractions.
While we concentrate on unfair taxes, our president, senators and
representatives know that it really doesn't matter if they get
$10,000 more in taxes from me or not. They think on a
different level. Obama wants to placate all of us by giving us
a "tax break". They want our adoration, not anger (albeit, some
more than others). They believe they make the rules
so unless they are taxing to punish us or to control us, they really don't want to do
tax us more.
We think it takes our money to run the government.
Those we have elected don't see it that way. They have
the printing presses. They will cheat. They will simply make more
currency, foolishly
believing that is the solution, like a third world country. Whether we have a fair
income tax or not, without the inevitable burdensome tax of an
inflationary currency and the cost of living getting more and more
expensive, you see we are completely enslaved to the government as
they can make us all poor by printing more. We tend to see
things in a more concrete, playing by the rules, manner yet they
circumvent the rules as long as they can get away with it. The
rules are simple, the first law of economics: "There is no
such thing as a free lunch." This is where we will all
eventually lose.
They know that, deep down. Still a distraction, although an
important one.
Yet, this is not what depresses the most. We need an urgent
call to repentance. Yes, let it begin with the church, with
the 'salt of the earth' folks who came to the cold evening when
other more enjoyable things were calling. We need to repent.
1 Peter 4: 17 For it is time for
judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with
us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the
gospel of God? 18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be
saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" 19 So
then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit
themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
Our acceptance of the holocaust of the unborn (hardly even mentioned
last evening), and of rampant immorality in our nation has piled
guilt upon our own heads. Without our own recognition of our
own fallen society and each of us individually (not just the other
'bad' guys), God's judgment will continue to oppress us. Where
is our tea party on behalf of the slaughter of our unborn?
When we get ourselves aligned with total commitment to God's plan
(as did the Puritans and most of our founders), only then will we
have the chance to entreat God's blessing, reach out to our
neighbors, and to truly affect politics in such a broken nation.
Then the politicians will not have a choice but to follow us.
Until they are reigned in by their own consciences affected by our
own witness and our own commitment through the Holy Spirit, we
invite nothing but more oppression until we all are punished.
Today, reports of a speech at Georgetown University given by the
president indicate the White House had the university cover "IHS",
referring to Jesus, in the hall where he was making the
speech.

God may help us out, if we beg His forgiveness in Christ's name
and seek Him in humility and brokenness.
Otherwise, we are destined to destruction. It is that simple.
As it is now, we dare spit in the eye of God, our only hope.
Let revival begin with the church. It is our only hope.
